A 70 year old man died on Salobreña beach on Friday evening, the second fatality at the beach within twenty-four hours.
Bathers noticed the man close to shore and alerted the authorities who tried in vain to resuscitate him. It is thought that he suffered some sort of heart problem while swimming.
The deceased was a resident of Granada who has on holiday in Salobreña. The day before, a 74 year old man drowned while swimming at one of the beaches in the town.
