A 47 year old Spanish woman died on Sunday morning while diving in the waters off Carboneras, Almeria.
At around 10:50 on Sunday morning the woman was pulled from the water near Islote de San Andrés. Medics tried to resuscitate her but were unsuccessful.
Although the woman is thought to have frowned, it is not yet known whether there were any contibuting factors, such as oxygen pressure, technical problems with the breathing apparatus or pressure change.
There have been eighteen deaths in the waters of Andalucia this summer.
