The Council, through the Finance Department, is contacting bars and restaurants that do not adhere to the municipal ordinance relating to occupation of the public roads and owe money to the Council, are exceeding their allocated space or, in some cases, both of these.
Bars and restaurants who are in debt to the Council will be notified and asked to rectify the situation. Those who fail to do so will see their terrace tables, chairs and other equipment removed, the cost of this action being added to their bill.
Clive says:
Perhaps they wouldn’t be in debt to the Council if it had not been made so difficult for clients to park in Nerja these days forcing them to take their business elsewhere.
Marilyn Evans says:
If the town hall had not made it so difficult to pay for the terraces ie. go to the town hall queue up for up to an hour, get the paperwork take it to a bank that you probably don’t bank with before 10.30 am when you may not have got to bed befor 3.30am. A usual it’s your fault not the town halls, it used to be so much easier????
