A caravan made up of musicians and vehicles drove through the streets of Granada today to distribute over 15,000 kilos of fruits and vegetables, a protest at the low prices of horticultural products as a result of the so-called ‘cucumber crisis’.
The protest was organised by the UPA, the Union of Small Farmers of Andalucia, who say that the ‘cucumber crisis’ in not yet resolved. They believe that the aid and compensation package only benefits five fruits, whereas around twenty fruits and vegetables have actually been affected, including the potato crops.
