Three days of strikes by municipal workers in Barbate, Cádiz, with only minimum service levels has left an estimated 180 tons of uncollected rubbish littering the streets.
The FSP-UGT and CCOO deem the strikes to have been a success with adherence to minimum service levels and no incidents reported so far. The strike began on Tuesday and is in protest at unpaid wages.
The mayor of Barbate has apparently stated that he will take steps to pay the outstanding amount of the June payroll although the unions remain sceptical as they say they have been hearing a similar story for the past eighteen months.
