The Council has once again sent a petition to the Ministry of Environment to request them to get a move on with the tendering process for the sewage works which, according to a statement made in May by the Minister, Rosa Aguilar, would take place in July.
The motion to contact the Ministry was not supported by the opposition parties. The latest news is that nothing is likely to happen until October when, possibly, a decision might be made as to whether construction of the sewage plant will be carried out by a private company or a public company belonging to the Ministry of Environment.
