Police in Madrid have dismantled an organisation dedicated to stealing cars and vans to order, stripping them down and selling the parts.
The members of the organisation each had their specific role to play in the process and they are already known to have been responsible for the theft of 215 vehicles.
It apparently only took them about an hour to steal, strip down, sell the parts and dispose of the remnants of the vehicles. Several fully equipped garages were used and several of the organisation were detained in the actual process of stripping down two vehicles stolen moments before.
Police recovered 10 engines, several axles, radiators, doors, transmissions, wheels, headlights and exhaust systems which were already prepared ready for sale.
