Numerous political figures, including the president of the Junta de Andalucia, José Antonio Griñán, the Minister of Development, José Blanco, the Mayor of Jerez, María José García Pelayo, the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Josefina Cruz Villalón, the government delegate in Andalucia, Luis García Garrido, and the General Manager of Railway Infrastructure, Carlos María Juárez, are amongst those attending the official inauguration today of the new railway station at Jerez de la Frontera airport.
Jerez de la Frontera becomes one of only three airports in Spain with a direct connection to local train (Cercanias) services.
The station will begin operating on Thursday.
