Tests have begun in Torre del Mar ready for the start of the total renovation of the promenade, a project budgeted at €2,328,695.
The Council wants to have the work completed by the middle of July 2012 so as not to interfere with the main holiday period. The joint venture company Ávila y Granados-Etosa has been awarded the contract and they have 12 months to complete the work, which doesn’t make much sense if the Council wants the promenade finished by July 2012.
The project has undergone a number of changes since it was first approved by the Council in 2008 and is now a lot less ambitious. The original project was set to cost €9.1 million.
