The chiringuitos in Huelva have so far had their best September for twenty years due to the favourable weather conditions, revenues up by 15% to 20% on last year.
It seems that there is a growing tendency for visitors to choose September, a more tranquil period than July or August, for their holidays although the length of stay is somewhat shorter.
In Huelva, around 95% of the early September visitors are ‘national’ but this is expected to change at the end of the month when more foreign tourists are expected. In view of the good start to September, and the optimism that it will continue for a few weeks yet, the Association of Chiringuitos is urging its members to at least keep their bars open until the end of the month.
