Three people died this morning when a helicopter crashed and burst into flames between the towns of Tocón de Quéntar and La Peza in Granada province.
The craft, a Bell 412, was on its way from Palma del Rio in Córdoba to an Infocid base in Alhama de Almeria where it was to temporarily replace another helicopter at the base.
The helicopter came down near the Barranco de la Farsaílla in La Peza, starting a wildfire. The crew members were thrown from the helicopter when it crashed. Two bodies were found immediately, the third was found a little while later after a search of the area.
The authorities are now trying to establish the cause of the crash.
