Nerja is to host the 29th Congress of the Study Group of the Ecopathology of Mountain Wildlife (GEEFSM) from October 6th to 9th, only the third time it has been held in Spain.
This group is part of a European scientific association whose purpose is the study of the diseases in free-livinganimals. Established for over 30 years, the association comprises nearly 350 researchers and technicians from virtually all European countries and is considered one of the most important in this field worldwide.
The previous two congresses in Spain were in Cazorla and in the Pyrenees in Aragon. According to the Council, it was the tourist infrastructure in Nerja and the interest shown by the Local Government Group in promoting science by providing municipal facilities such as the Cultural Centre which attracted the attention of the association.
The scientific sessions will all be held in the Nerja Cultural Centre in calle Granada.
