A total of 7.64 million foreign tourists visited Spain during August, up 9.4% on 2010 and the highest monthly number of all time.

In August, US tourist numbers were up by 16.7%, German by 12.3% and Italian by 10.5%. During the year so far, almost 9.5 million Britons have visited Spain. Andalucia received 1 million foreign visitors in August, third behind Cataluña with 1.9 million and the Balearics with 1.8 million.
