A 42 year old man has been arrested in Mijas as the alleged killer of two women on the Costa del Sol and police are not ruling out the possibility of more victims either in Spain or in other countries.
Also detained are the mother and girlfriend of the alleged killer, one of whom was in possession of the mobile phones of the victims and the other was in possession of their credit cards.
The primary motive of the killings, which were very violent and possibly involved torture, is thought to be robbery.
The first victim on the Costa del Sol was a 45 year old Argentinian woman who lived in Calahonda, the second was a 47 year old Ecuadorian woman in San Pedro de Alcántara. Both were stabbed multiple times.
The alleged murderer has not yet been identified as he was using a false identity. Police are trying to establish his identity through DNA testing and via Interpol.
