It may only last for one day but Málaga are top of La Liga after a 3-2 win over Getafe at La Rosaleda and after twice coming from behind.
Although the Blue and Whites dominated, it was Getafe who scored first through a terrific volley from Pedro León in the second half. Van Nistelrooy headed an equaliser and then a bizarre goal from Miku put Getafe back in the driving seat.
Lacen committed a foul on a Málaga player, and was subsequently booked for the offence and, as it was his second offence, was given his marching orders. However, play was allowed to continue and Lacen was able to cross the ball. Miku then used his hand to guide the ball into the net.
The goal stood, Lacen was sent packing and Málaga were up against it once more. But it wasn’t over as Maresca grabbed an equaliser with two minutes of normal time remaining and then Baptista scored the winner with a spectacular overhead kick as the match went into overtime.
No more than Málaga deserved.
Earlier in the evening, Valencia had occupied top spot after a 1-0 win over Granada, Canales the scorer after just four minutes.
