There are now 102 confirmed cases of salmonella infection in Osuna, Sevilla, which could be related to food eaten at a wedding celebration last Saturday. One person has been hospitalised.
Although it has been confirmed that the infection is salmonella, it has not yet been established whether this is actually related to food eaten at the wedding. Probably fairly safe bet, though, if they all attended the function. Surveys are being carried and stool samples are being tested to ascertain the cause of the infection but it will be at least a week before the results are known.
All the victims suffered gastroenteritis with high fever, vomiting and diarrhea, indications of salmonella infection.
