After the early weekend matches it’s a more familiar scene at the top of La Liga with Barcelona and Real Madrid occupying the first two places after both teams had fairly comfortable wins.
Barcelona were 3-0 victors over Racing Santander and the maestro, Messi, grabbed two goals to become Barcelona’s second most prolific goalscorer with 196 goals. Only Cesar Rodriguez has scored more, 235 in total.
Xavi scored the third goal for Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid eased to a 4-1 win against early pacesetters Real Betis, Gonzalo Higuain scoring a hat-trick and Kaka getting the fourth. Jorge Molina scored the only goal for Betis.
