The municipal boundaries between Torrox and Nerja are apparently not clear enough, particularly in the area around Vilches beach known as arroyo Frontiles, and a committee is to be set up to study the matter.
Torrox Council filed a complaint earlier this year and Nerja Council has now approved a motion to set up a committee to be responsible for revising the boundaries between the two municipalities.
Twelve years ago, when the natural park of Sierras Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama was set up, Nerja was involved in a similar boundary dispute with neighbouring Competa relating to some of the mountainous areas.
Vilches, probably quite coincidentally, is one of the sites proposed by both Torrox and Nerja as a location for a marina.
