The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested a man who was driving in an intoxicated state and, following an argument with his passengers, drove his car into the sea.
The detainee, a 34 year old resident of Sant Adrià del Besos (Barcelona), had apparently been driving his car when an argument broke and in his anger, he drove the car into the sea at the junction of Muelle Gregal and Muelle Mistral in the Port Olímpic in Barcelona.
The driver and his four passengers all escaped unharmed after breaking the windows of the vehicle and being hauled out of the water by some people working in the Port Olimpic. The incident occurred at 05:40 on Sunday morning.
The driver tested positive for alcohol and has been charged with drunk driving and on suspicion of attempted murder.
