The first section of the SE-40 ring road in Sevilla connecting La Rinconada and Alcalá de Guadaíra is scheduled to open on Sunday.
This ten kilometre section has taken four years at a cost of €108 million links the motorway to Madrid (A-4) with the Sevilla-Almería highway (A-92) and should reduce traffic jams on the SE-30 and provide an alternative route for freight traffic.
The second stretch between the A-92 and highway to Utrera (A-376) is currently expected to be opened in the first quarter of 2012 according to the Ministry of Development.
