Four Spanish nationals, three men and a woman, have been arrested in Australia for drug trafficking after being caught with 300 kilos of cocaine.
The four people arrived in Australia from Vanatu aboard a yacht, docking in Bundaberg, Queensland. They were transporting drugs for an international gang of traffickers.
They left Vanatu on October 14th aboard the yacht ‘Friday Freedom’ and arrived in Bundaberg six days later. The police did not arrest the four Spaniards until last Friday when they tried to sell 100 kilos of the drug.
The drugs haul, valued at €58 million, is the fifth largest seized in Australia. The four Spaniards, who live in Australia, face a life sentence if convicted.
