Francisco Peña, a ‘banderillero’ by profession, saved the life of a 68 year old woman after she was attacked by two pitbulls let loose on Aguadulce beach in Rota.
The woman is in hospital with a broken arm and severe tears to the skin. Peña himself suffered a broken wrist and was bitten a number of times by the dogs.
Thirty minutes later there was another attack by the same dogs but this time the victim managed to drown one of the animals and escape alive.
All three criticised the length of time it took the police to arrive on the scene.
