Five people from the same family in Málaga have been arrested in connection with the theft of 156,000 litres of diesel fuel oil from a pipeline supplying Málaga airport.
Three other people have also been charged in connection with the theft. The thieves drilled into the pipeline in the Campamento area of the city and in doing so, caused an oil spill in the area.
The authorities discovered the theft when investigating a loss of pressure in the oil supply. Users were not affected by the theft and the oil spill has been described as being not serious.
