Employees of the municipal cleaning company Limasa in Jerez resumed the cleaning of schools in the municipality on Friday after it was confirmed that their October wages would be paid ‘within hours’.
The Limasa workers had been on strike since last Tuesday due to the unpaid wages situation. They will now work on Saturday to make sure the schools are clean for the general election voting.
On Friday, up to 40% of parents decided not to send their children to school due to the accumulation of dirt in the buildings, particularly in the bathrooms. Limasa has promised that the schools will be in a perfect state of cleanliness by Monday.
