Real Madrid ensured top spot in their Champions League group with a 6-2 win against Dinamo Zagreb.
Real, with a lot of new faces in the team, were three goals up after just eight minutes with strikes from Benzema, Callejón and Higuaín. Özil added a fourth later in the first half and then Callejón and Benzema added two more in the second half.
Zagreb managed a couple of late consolation goals through Beciraj and Tomecak.
Villarreal are out of the Champions League after losing 3-1 at Bayern Munich although, having lost their first four matches, qualifying would have needed some sort of divine intervention. Ribery scored two for the German side and Mario Gómez got the third with De Guzmán on the score sheet for Villarreal.
