National Police, Local Police and Guardia Civil officers have so far managed to round up seventeen North African immigrants, including several children, who managed to slip ashore in Calahonda, Motril, Granada province.
An as yet undetermined number of illegal immigrants made it to shore at around 09:00 on Wednesday morning and promptly fled and hid to avoid detection. A passer by notified the police of the unwelcome arrivals and a search was launched.
By 09:30, two Moroccan nationals had been detained. Both were soaking wet, had no documentation and were carrying 2.5 kilos of hashish. Fifteen more were rounded up later and the search continues for any remaining members of the landing party.
