Twitter is the latest social media platform to ring out the changes and has unveiled a new design which allows users to have a more detailed profile page and greater visibility of conversations between tweeters, giving a more similar feel to Facebook. The new layout is based around four tabs: ‘connect’, ‘discover’, ‘me’ and ‘home’.
The biggest changes are the addition of a more detailed profile page, the ability to see all of the activity surrounding one tweet directly below the message, similar fashion to Facebook ‘comments’, and the ‘discover’ tab which generates relevant content for each user based on their interests.
In the new Twitter feed, clicking on a tweet reveals an expanded view showing all relevant interactions beneath it, as well photos, videos and other media being shown in full.
The new design is rolling out in stages with the UK expected to have the new interface in 2012, although it is already available in a new Twitter mobile app.
