The renovations to calle Pancho López, between Teatro del Carmen and the commercial centre of Vélez-Málaga, have been completed at a cost of €183,379.
The street was inaugurated on Tuesday by the Mayor, Francisco Delgado Bonilla, and the Councillor for Urban Planning and Infrastructure, Concepción Labao. The works included renewing drainage and telephone cables as well as improvements to lighting.
The next stage of road improvements will cover calle Gigantes, Federico Téllez Macías and the last section of calle La Carrera in the direction of the Pescadería Vieja (old Fish Market). It is envisaged that 2012 will see the completion of works to renovate the centre of the town.
