A woman was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning in Mijas after driving for several kilometres the wrong way down the A-7 near Mijas, Málaga province.
The incident occurred at 02:50 on Monday morning. Firemen returning from a fire watched as the woman joined the highway at the intersection with urbanisation Riviera del Sol and then continued the wrong way for several kilometres until Local Police finally managed to stop her.
The woman seemed obviously intoxicated but refused to submit to a breath test and was therefore taken to a local health centre. In her car police also found marijuana, 25 ecstacy tablets and 15 sealed doses of cocaine.
She is being charged with disobedience, reckless driving, driving under the influence and possession of drugs amongst others.
