Vélez-Málaga Council, in debt on all fronts, has announced the tendering of a contract to build a new Social Services Centre with a budgeted cost of €1,422,000.
The regional government is providing €600,000 of the cost. Mayor Francisco Delgado presented the project as one of the major actions planned by his government.
The new building will be constructed on a plot of municipal land and will have three floors, around 30 offices, plus workshops and a multi-purpose room. The new building will replace the current headquarters of the Social Services in the Pescadería Vieja.
