Nine Local Police officers in Sevilla have been cited as defendants and will appear in court next week in connection with bribery and corruption relating to towing and other services provided by the force.
The investigation began after a 2009 case in which a Local Police officer was involved in a drugs operation. Phone tapping of that officer led to the discovery of a network of officers pocketing fines for towing and fees for escorting heavy vehicles through the city.
Also cited are two employees of the local towing service.
