Sevilla Council has received the first two fines relating to the solicitation of the services of prostitutes on the streets of the city.
The new municipal ordinance relating to solicitation on the streets came into operation in October 2011 and since that time, 46 denuncias have been issued with 33 of those already having received notification of fines. And now the first two have paid up, both within 15 days of being nicked.
Fines for soliciting the services of prostitutes range from €750 to €3,000 depending upon circumstances, such as the proximity to a school or area where children are present.
