Álora Council has approved a new municipal ordinance which will, amongst other things, limit the passage of horses through the town.
Horses will only be permitted on the streets of the town during pilgrimages and certain other festivals and it will also be an offence to tether horses to lampposts or traffic lights.
It will also be an offence to leave dogs on balconies or rooftops between the hours of midnight and 08:00.
Fines for infringements of these new regulations will be between €60 and €150 depending on the seriousness of the offence.
