Real Madrid are, at least temporarily, 13 points clear at the top of La Liga after a comfortable 4-0 against Racing Santander.
Ronaldo opened the scoring after just six minutes and Benzema made it two just before the break. Racing Santander were then hampered slightly by having Domingo Cisma sent packing for two yellow cards.
In the second half, Di Maria got himself on the scoresheet and Benzema grabbed his second of the night to make it a comfortable win.
Sevilla, hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone, managed their first win in eight matches, seeing off Osasuna by two goals to nil, Medel and Trochowski the scorers. The win moves Sevilla up to tenth place in La Liga, although it could only be temporary.
