A new tapas bar means giving it a go, so on a glorious Sunday lunchtime it was time to try the newly opened Barbacoa in calle Jaén, formerly home to the Andrea Inn and, subsequently, Diva’s Bar.
The bar had only just opened when I passed by, which meant I got the place to myself and had a good chance to peruse the facilities.
The interior has been well done out, nice wooden bar counter, glass-fronted barbecue grill so you can see what’s cooking and the kitchen area, which is not huge, has been nicely arranged to give the impression of space.
In addition to tapas and raciones, Barbacoa does a barbecued mixed grill, complete with salad and chips, for €7 which seems a fair price these days.
There is a reasonable selection of tapas (meat, fish and vegetarian) and a caña and a tapa will set you back €1.50. Also fairly standard these days.
Very enjoyable.
