Manchester United crashed out of the Europa League, soundly beaten by a young Athletic Bilbao in their last-16 tie.
Fernando Llorente scored with a superb volley and then Oscar de Marcos put the home side further ahead. Wayne Rooney scored with a magnificent shot from 25 yards late on but it was merely a consolation and Athletic continued to dominate right up until the end.
