The Council has approved planning permission for the provincial Housing Company EMPROVIMA to construct eleven VPO (subsidised) houses in the Campo de Vidrio area of Nerja.
Anyone wishing to apply for one of these houses must already be registered on the Housing Applicants Register, a procedure that can be performed on the second floor of the Town Hall from 10:00 to 13:00 Monday to Friday.
The completion period for construction has been set at 18 months, although the Council expects that the houses will be ready earlier.
The houses will be allocated for sale under ‘special’ rules rather than ‘general’ rules which means they will be slightly cheaper, subject to 4% IVA instead of 8% and the income requirements will be lower at around €7,500 per annum.
Hopefully all the necessary homework has been done and it will not subsequently be discovered that the land is only classified as suitable for the construction of an underground pigeon loft.
