Passengers on the 12:35 Ryanair flight from Málaga to Barcelona have been complaining about being kept in a hot plane for two hours with no air conditioning after a fault was discovered on the aircraft.
Passengers embarked at 12:05 and after the safety demonstration the plane moved to the runway. A fault was then discovered and technicians arrived to try and find a solution.
There was apparently no air conditioning and it was very hot inside the plane, a situation which particularly affected the young and the elderly. According to reports, the first announcement made over the public address system about the fault was made solely in English which many did not understand.
The passengers were not allowed to leave the plane, despite the hot temperatures, and initial requests for water were reportedly met with the response that the bar service was closed.
Passengers were eventually given small bottles of water, but had to pay €3 for them. The flight eventually left at 14:15.
