There have been numerous comments and complaints that Apple’s new iPad gets hot after about thirty minutes use and the US watchdog Consumer Reports investigated claims that the new Apple iPad gets significantly hotter than previous models.
Complaints on Apple’s online forums said the bottom left corner of the device gets very warm and after testing the new iPad, Consumer Reports engineers recorded temperatures as high as 47C on the front and rear of the new iPad while playing a game.
Most of the comments on Apple’s forums said that the device was ‘warm’ after around 30 minutes of use, although most specified that it was not ‘hot’.
According to an Apple spokesman, the iPad is “within our thermal specifications.”
