The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, has announced that the project for the construction of a sewage plant is being put out to tender, the contract being worth €40,581,298.26 plus IVA and with a completion date of 2015.
The tender document will be published in the Official Gazette once a few formalities have been finalised:
Tender approved by the government auditor
Preparation of a favourable inspection report
Approval of contract documents by the Attorney General
Approval of the tender and contract documents and tender procedure by the Government
The Mayor fully expects the document to be published in the Official Gazette by the end of next week.
The Mayor says that as soon as the document is published he will set up a working group, chaired by himself and including the government spokesman, Councillor for Infrastructure and technicians, to monitor ‘almost on a daily basis’ the progress of the project.
Let us hope that this goes ahead as announced, bearing in mind that the elections in Andalucia are on March 25th.
