Operation ‘Bull’, an investigation carried out by the National Police and Guardia Civil into the disappearance of a 32 year old Moroccan in October 2011 has resulted in four people being arrested on charges of illegal detention, murder and drug trafficking.
The detainees are two Estonian nationals, a Latvian and a Brazilian.
The Moroccan, born in Melilla, disappeared in October 2011, his trail going cold in Benalmadena. On November 1st, a body was found in a rural area of Cútar and this turned out to be the missing man and an investigation was started.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the Moroccan was part of a clan involved in drug trafficking and was in the process of arranging a large shipment of hashish for some Eastern European buyers.
The detainees belong to a gang engaged in drug trafficking who obtain their drugs by either snatching them from other dealers at the point of sale or by kidnapping dealers and forcing them to reveal the whereabouts of stored drugs.
Three of the detainees have been remanded in custody. The fourth, a Brazilian woman, has been released on bail.
