Jaén Council has approved an adjustment plan for the next decade which will see taxes raised and a reduction in municipal employees by means of not replacing staff who retire.
The Council approved the plan as collateral for receiving ICO funds of €210 million for the purpose of settling their debts with suppliers.
Property Tax (IBI) is set to go up, especially following the first update of the Land Registry in sixteen years, and, amongst others, vehicle tax and rubbish collection taxes will also rise.
The workforce will be reduced by 20%, in the main as a result of not replacing some 300 staff due to retire within the next decade.
