Unemployment in the Eurozone reached 10.8% in February and in the European Union as a whole stands at a record 10.2% with one in five out of work being Spanish.
Spain is top of the unemployment list in all categories with over five million out of work, 23.6% of the workforce. Amongst younger people, the unemployment rate in Spain is over 50%.
Following Spain in the list is Greece with 21% and then Portugal with 15%. At the other, more preferable end of the table is Austria with 4.2%, the Netherlands with 4.9%, Luxembourg with 5.2% and Germany with 5.7%.
In the past year, unemployment fell in 8 member states, rose in 18 and remained stable in 1, Rumania.
