The Council has approved a proposal by Hacienda de la Miel SL for the construction of a rural hotel at Loma de Las Cuadrillas in Río de la Miel, the first such facility within the municipality if it goes ahead.
The proposed project involves the adaptation and renovation of existing buildings to become a rural hotel with 10 rooms.
The farm where the hotel would be located has a total area of 121,635 square metres and is planted mainly with olive and almond trees. There are also has beehives and the planting of avocados and grapes is also scheduled. The proposed activities related to this project have favorable reports by technicians from both the Council and the Junta de Andalucia.
The project includes the renovation of the existing construction to result in a 366 square metre rural hotel with 10 double rooms, dining room, conference room and various outbuildings.
Although primarily a rural hotel, various activities would be developed, such as a farm school, nature centre, hiking and walking and other environment-related initiatives.
