Valencia overturned a 2-1 deficit from their first-leg against AZ Alkmaar, going through 5-2 on aggregate after a 3-1 victory at home. They will now play Atletico Madrid in the semi-final.
Atlético beat Hannover 2-1 in Germany to go through 4-2 on aggregate. Not a pretty match to watch, a lot of niggly fouls from Atlético, but Diego was outstanding and the goal from Adrián was a stunner.
Athletic Bilbao were held to a 2-2 draw by Schalke 04 on the night but go through 6-4 on aggregate.
