Fuengirola is set to allow the commercial exploitation of its beaches all year round and not just during specific, seasonal periods, a move already approved by the Junta de Andalucia.
The idea is to make the concessions, such as for sunbeds, pedalos etc, more attractive to potential investors with 10 year contracts and the added attraction that they are not limited to particular months.
There are also other changes in the offing. There is expected to be a free, open-air cinema on Los Boliches beach during the months of July and August following an agreement with the Miramar shopping centre.
Tenders are also expected to be put out for two play areas and two massage areas on Los Boliches beach, these contracts also running for ten years.
Also up for tender on the beaches of Los Boliches, Fuengirola and San Francisco will be areas for sunbeds, five areas for pedalos, three water sport lanes, two temporary kiosks, 26 areas for BBQ installations and various other items.
