The Casabermeja Association of Hunters has denounced the presence of wild boar crossing the A-46 near Las Pedrizas and is asking the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration to sort out administrative problems which prevent them from ‘controlling’ these animals.
The wild boar do, from time to time, move from Lo Morfi-Almendral to an area of agricultural land when food or water is scarce. The hunters claim that they have seen about 25 wild boar crossing the road and that these present a serious danger to traffic.
However, there have been no accidents involving wild boar on the road and the concessionaire of the AP-46 states that they have never seen any and that there are tunnels under the road specially for the animals.
The hunters are prohibited from hunting in the area as the result of the late payment of a €36 fee in 2007, the Ministry revoking their licence for this year and next.
