The Portuguese authorities have asked their Spanish counterparts to investigate the reported sighting in Nerja of someone bearing a strong resemblance to Madeleine McCann, the young girl who went missing in the Algarve in May 2007.
There have been all sorts of theories relating to the case and sightings have been reported all over the world, the latest now being in Nerja.
The Specialist and Violent Crime Unit (UDEV) of the National Police is carrying out an investigation after a report made ten days ago of the sighting in Nerja of a girl who bore a ‘strong resemblance’ to Madeleine McCann.
The case of Madeleine McCann has never been far from the public eye and has been quite controversial at times. It would be absolutely wonderful if she were to be found, alive and well, and one can only hope that this turns out to be the case for all concerned.
