National Police officers have arrested 10 minors, three of them under 14 years of age, in connection with the fatal shooting in Madrid on Friday night of a 16 year old youth.
The incident occurred at around 22:30 in calle de Peña Gorbea in the district of Puente de Vallecas and it is thought that it could have been the result of a clash between two Latino gangs.
The deceased was of born in Zaragoza although his parents are Dominican. The detainees are 5 Dominicans, 2 Spanish, a Peruvian, an Ecuadorian and a Rumanian.
The three under-age youths have been released in the custody of their parents as at that age they are not criminally responsible, despite one of them being thought to be the actual shooter.
Police seized a number of weapons including a pistol and three machetes.
