The local cultural organisation La Volaera, founded a year ago by a group of local residents in Nerja, has denounced the ‘deplorable state of neglect’ of the old sugar mills in the town, particularly the oldest, the XVI century San Antonio Abad mill. The group is calling for the protection of such buildings and has scheduled a guided tour for Sunday under the leadership of history professor Francisco Capilla.
